«In 2007 MECAMIDI opened its Brazilian subsidiary MECAMIDI Brasil in São Paulo. One year later, it took over the control of the former company “Bee Turbinas Wirz Ltda.” successor of the old “H. Wirz & Cia Ltda.”, a factory created in 1922 by European immigrant and which always supplied hydraulic turbines. Since then the company totalizes more than 2000 references of equipment for micro and small hydro plants. The factory is located in the city of Estrela, State of Rio Grande do Sul and the company has been renamed MECAMIDI Wirz.  An important modernization program of the factory then took place by increasing the workshop area and by adding numerical control machining centers.

Activities include the supply of hydraulic turbines, butterfly valves, trashracks, gates and penstocks, as well as the supply complete electromechanical equipment “water-to-wire turn-key” packages with associated field services.

MECAMIDI in Brazil has high qualified technical and administrative professional team and traditional manufacturing experience at competitive costs. Counting with a modern engineering design technology, MECAMIDI is an efficient and committed partner for the development of Micro, Small and Medium Hydro Plants.

«History:

Company  H. Wirz & Cia Ltda was founded in 1922 where, during years, has consolidated the expertise in machining hydraulic turbines and hydromechanical equipment, with more than 2000 references of supplies for Small Hydro Plants. In the middle of 2008 the joint venture with Mecamidi group took place in the aim to strength global technology and business potentials.

Workshop:

After joint venture agreement with Mecamidi, the company is renamed Mecamidi Wirz and through technological and infrastructure increases, associated with qualification process, turns to be capable to produce  equipment up to 50 MW unit output.

Present vision:

Mecamidi Wirz meets the energy market in order to supply the necessity of renewable energy generation through its innovative technology and respect of environment. Moreover, new business opportunities and expansion will appear in the global market.
